The demand for private virtual networks (VPNs) has grown rapidly due to the active cybercrime development. Cyberghost VPN is one of many VPN providers that strives to provide maximum user data protection and be a leader in the VPN market. In this article, we will take an in-depth look at what Cyberghost VPN has to offer.

Pros & Cons
Pros
  • Good connection speed
  • Headquarters is in Romania
  • Zero-logs policy
  • Money Back Guarantee 45 days
  • Servers optimized for streaming and torrent activities
Cons
  • High prices for plans
  • No "Multi Hop" function
  • No access to iTV hub
Security
55/5

Cyberghost offers industry-leading military-grade 256 – AES VPN encryption and maintains a strict Zero-logs policy to ensure maximum anonymity of user activity in the network. The service also provides protection against DNS and IP leaks. Cyberghost is headquartered in privacy-friendly Romania, which is not a member of the 14-eyes alliance.

Speed
4.74.7/5

On the Cyberghost website it is stated that the service offers lightning fast VPN connection speeds. We decided to check on our own how good the speed on Cyberghost VPN servers really is. The results are presented below:

Speed without Cyberghost VPN:

Speed with Cyberghost VPN:

According to the test results the Internet speed decreased by about 3.6%, which was pleasantly surprising, because such a percentage of speed loss is quite insignificant. However, when connected to servers located far away from our actual location – the speed was not so good and the drop was sometimes about 30-45%. At the same time we were able to stream video content in a good quality almost without buffering and do other things online without any problems.

Features
4.74.7/5

Cyberghost VPN offers a number of features that saturate the user experience, including automatic “Kill Switch”, “Dedicated IP” and “Split Tunneling”. Some Cyberghost VPN servers have “NoSpy” status and are provided by the company’s personal data center, which is located in Romania. The service also unblocks various content libraries and provides access to the NFL, NBA, MLB, as well as to HBO Max, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Hulu, Amazon Prime and Disney+. The site also states that with Cyberghost VPN you can easily access TikTok, Facebook, Twitch, Snapchat and Spotify, as well as safely download torrents, do gaming and place betts on sports. As for VPN protocols – users can use IKEv2, OpenVPN, Wireguard and (L2TP) / IPSec. In addition, we want to point out that with Cyberghost VPN users can get VPN extensions for browsers (Chrome, Firefox) for free, but a number of servers in them is minimal.
Unfortunately, the service does not offer “Multi Hop” connection feature and does not provide access to the iTV hub.

Pricing and plans
4.54.5/5

Having studied Cyberghost VPN pricing policy, we can directly say that this provider is not the one, that anyone can afford. Monthly subscripton will cost the potential user about $13, which is quite a lot. There are 3 types of plans on the website: 1 month, 6 months and 2 years. For an additional fee, you can add to your subscription Cyberghost Antivirus and “Security Updater,” a feature that notifies you of unupdated versions of installed applications that may carry security risks. With all subscriptions you can use up to 7 devices, and in case if the subscription is not suitable for any reason – a refund request can be submitted within 45 days.

Streaming
44/5

CyberGhost is a powerful and reliable Virtual Private Network (VPN) service that allows users to access streaming platforms like US Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video and more without any restrictions. But you can have problems when accessing the BBC iPlayer and HBO Max. With CyberGhost, users can also securely download torrents without worrying about their online privacy but with a quite low speed.

Conclusion

Cyberghost VPN is a powerful VPN service that provides strong protection of user data, p2p support and unblocking of most popular streaming services at a fairly high price. Unfortunately Cyberghost VPN does not offer a “Multi Hop” feature, which provides an additional level of protection of user data. We can recommend Cyberghost VPN to those who can afford to pay $13 per month. However, before settling on Cyberghost VPN, we advise to consider other VPN providers that can offer more or the same amount of features but for a lower price.
